ShangriLa Trailer Park edition by John Zunski Literature Fiction eBooks

Clearly not a book for many, MANY reviewer's taste yet I could not put it down! I've never wanted a character like Ace dead or worse in all the books I've ever read (it must say something about how well the characters were drawn). Some rather vulgar sexual scenes and language present, yet loads of humor both crude and more common place as well as even someone waxing poetic (of all things) making it my most eclectic read to date. Some cleaner passages include:

1) He knew bears_women, well...he understood bears
2) Pete looked at Jessica as if she had farted in the Vatican.
3) Life offered other than grease monkeys, mini-marts and Entertainment Tonight
4) Breakfast - Pop-tarts and a Pepsi
5) He shoveled food down his gullet, stopping only to slurp glassfuls of water. "Easy," Dora mocked. "It's dead, it ain't going anywhere.
6) Empathy, he thought, the curse of the new-age man.
7) Hell hath no fury like a rabid trailer park mongrel
8) Over tension as tough as her meatloaf, Louise interrogated Pete

I could go on and on with over a dozen pages of clippings but I will not, you'll just have to read it if you dare. But be forewarned as there is most assuredly plenty to be offended about, yet the book contained one heck of a story. 5 stars in my opinion! ShangriLa Trailer Park edition by John Zunski Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Really liked this one; I genuinely was surprised and delighted by the quirky imperfect characters whose failings gave them a realistic touch.
Quirky characters and plot but fun to read. Who would think all that could happen in one trailer park? Enjoy
Never finished this book as the characters were uninteresting and not very believable for me. Maybe I just didn't GET it.
I enjoyed this book, hated the woman beater...the way the author made me laugh despite that...is why I like the book.
Dog-sheared Dora is a hoot...and tough!!
Read the book !
I couldn't get halfway through this, I am sorry to say, after reading some wonderful reviews about it. I read a LOT and encounter plenty of cuss words, but the language was obscene. Just plain unbearable. Plus the book was depressing in locale, characters and plot. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and can't understand why it had favorable reviews. Perhaps it is a matter of taste since I noticed that other readers found humor in it, whereas I only felt despair. I already know it is unfair to offer a review if one has only read half of a book, so don't do the comments about that. Somehow I feel heroic in warning other readers away from this and the half-read/unfair type comments will be outweighed by my sense of obligation to tell other fair readers to find something else to read.
Was well written and very readable. Indian lore was pretty much on the money. Gives the reader great visuals.
I found this story to be a little strange. Definitely not a ordinary piece of writing, that's for sure. If you like offbeat funny stories this is your cup of tea.
